| Having only visited Barbados for the first time in 2004, we fell in love with the island and decided to get our own place there so we could visit more often and stay longer. Our teenage daughters were also growing tired of European holidays with their parents, but the concept of Caribbean holidays had strangely rekindled their interest in going away with us! Looking on the internet, we were lucky to find the Springcourt development in a quiet residential area, just a mile inland from the vibrant Rockley Beach, and 10 minutes drive from the capital Bridgetown in one direction, and the nightlife hub of the island - St Lawrence Gap - in the other. We have bought one of the maisonette's which has a spacious kitchen/dining/sitting room area downstairs and two large double bedrooms upstairs with wardrobes and their own bath/shower rooms. The property has been built in a local style, with wooden shutters and the windows let in loads of natural light which adds to the feeling of space. The kitchen is of high quality and fully equipped with hob and oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge/freezer and has a breakfast bar. There is also a large under stairs cupboard (with a safe bolted to the floor) and a downstairs loo. With a powerful air-conditioning unit and a fan to keep things cool downstairs, there is also air-conditioning and fans in both bedrooms. The bathrooms are luxuriously fitted out. A couple of nice features of the property are that rainwater is collected off the roof for irrigating the garden and that solar panels on the roof help to heat the water. |
| "Having looked at many properties and locations, Springcourt ticked all of the "right" boxes. The property itself is extremely well built and luxurious and the location of it is perfect, not too far from the beach but nestled away in a very pleasant residential area. Its proximity to the airport makes the journey swift and pleasant. We have found the beach at Rockley to be one of the nicest on the Island, the sea is great for swimming and the gentle breeze makes the climate perfect for sunbathing. The resort itself has everything necessary for either self catering or great local dining. Our experience in the actual buying of the property has been extremely easy, the legal process has been very smooth and every query has been dealt with in a very efficient manner. The only down side to the purchase is we have to leave it and come home!" Springcourt is just perfect, whether it’s for yourself to escape the British winter as we do or to invest and rent out, it doesn’t come better or easier than here. Each townhouse or apartment is built and finished to the highest standards in all areas. All properties are set in beautiful gardens and superbly landscaped with fountains and wonderful flowers all year round. The outside maintenance, pool and gardens are all taken care of for you, so all your time spent here is quality time. Springcourt has one other prime card to play, its location. Situated on the south west coast within minutes of some of the islands best beaches, the development can also boast all the amenities right on its doorstep, from supermarkets to fine dining, the small but select development has to be seen to be believed. We purchased our townhouse about a year ago, and this winter alone we have spent several weeks enjoying permanent great weather and a great deal of what both Barbados and its beautiful people have to offer. We have absolutely no involvement in the development whatsoever. However we felt that, due to the whole journey from purchase to living being so easy and totally hassle free, other people may like to hear and benefit from our wonderful experience. |
